For manufacturers
Parts and custom runs for lamp makers
wick is built from modules: a smart core, molded bases, bodies and tops, shade mounts and a knob mechanism. If you make lamps or fixtures, you can build these into your own products, or have us make a run of sockets designed for your lamp.
Components you can source
The smart core
The boards that run a wick: the controller (Wi‑Fi 6, Thread and Bluetooth setup, updates over the air) and a switching board for On/Off, Dimmer or 3‑Way. Ready for your own housing.
Complete sockets
A finished wick to drop into your design: the standard body, or the 45 mm compact for lamps switched on the cord. E26, threads onto 1/8 IPS pipe, screw terminals for the cord.
Molded parts
Bases (cone, bell, or a cup made for your lamp), bodies and tops, molded in flame-retardant polycarbonate in your colors.
Shade mounts
A harp seat, the standard Uno thread, or a ring thread cut to match the shade rings you already use.
The knob mechanism
A detent ring for each switch type (four clicks, or a dimmer with stops) read by a magnetic sensor, so the knob can sit on the side, low by the base, or as a dial on a cup.
Add-on modules
Ember (a night light, and a glow that lasts through a power outage), Sense (24 GHz presence), a long-range Wi‑Fi antenna, and a USB‑C port.
What a custom run looks like
- Send us your lamp. A sample, drawings, or photos with a few measurements: the pipe, the shade's fitting, the room under the shade, where a hand reaches.
- We design the fit. The base or cup, the shade mount and the knob's position, with renders and a printed fit sample for you to try on your lamp.
- Pilot sockets. A handful of working sockets in your finish to live with and test.
- The run. Your finishes, switch type and features, built and shipped in the quantity you need.
For example:
A desk lamp that hangs its bulb under a metal cup: the cup becomes the socket's base, with a low dial on its side.
A floor lamp line in brass: Uno-thread sockets with Ember, so every lamp doubles as a night light.
Restored vintage lamps switched on the cord: compact sockets in black, sold with the lamps.
A hotel refit: dimmer sockets with presence sensing, in the property's finish, joined to its building's smart-home system.
